Job Description Provides leadership in the strategy and execution of the Toxicology, Biocompatibility and Chemical Characterization of medical devices to ensure compliance is maintained with Regulatory requirements while supporting the business strategy of the company. Serves as the Subject Matter Expert in toxicology and biocompatibility providing expertise, training and mentoring to the organization. Extended Core Team Member, supporting new product development, sustaining engineering, manufacturing, returns and servicing of products. Job Duties Responsible for supporting new product development, sustaining engineering and manufacturing projects from a toxicological and biocompatibility perspective. Act as a coach and mentor across multiple functions such as Quality and R&D to build and develop skills and competencies of others. Interface across Olympus business units and global regions as a biocompatibility / toxicology subject matter expert. Responsible to ensure requirements of the Regulatory requirements for toxicology and biocompatibility are applied and adhered to for the validation of new and existing products. Ensures that the toxicology and biocompatibility procedures are accurate, reflecting the quality system, all regulatory requirements and ensures that they are implemented correctly. Supports facility audits by outside agencies (i.e., FDA, ISO / MDSAP) as the biocompatibility subject matter expert. Other responsibilities as assigned by Quality / Microbiology Management. Job Requirements REQUIRED
Qualifications:
Minimum of Master's Degree in Toxicology or closely related field (biology, chemistry, biochemistry, biomedical engineering). PhD in Toxicology or closely related field (biology, chemistry, biochemistry, biomedical engineering) is preferred. Minimum of 10 years of Medical Device Industry experience. Minimum of 10 years of Toxicology / Biocompatibility experience. Travel:
10-15% mainly domestic, some international PREFERRED
Qualifications:
DABT Board Certified Toxicologist preferred. Medical Device background with extensive experience in Toxicology and Biocompatibility. Writing/performing Biologics Evaluation Reports (BERs) and Risk Assessments.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Other SciencesEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
